Business Assistance Programs – Lewis & Clark / USDA
There are various sources and forms of assistance that are targeted toward those businesses located outside the corporate limits of Bismarck, Mandan, or both. They include, but are not limited to, the following two agencies:
- The Lewis & Clark Regional Development Council offers a variety of programs and services to foster economic growth and community development in a 10-county region of south-central North Dakota. The Council helps local governments, organizations, businesses, and individuals access federal, state, and other funding sources to enhance employment and business opportunities, maintain and improve infrastructure and public services, rehabilitate housing, and develop plans. - The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development is the leading advocate for rural America. To support rural regional economic prosperity, USDA Rural Development provides job training and business development opportunities for rural residents, including cooperative business development, community economic development and strategic community planning and faith-based and self-help initiatives. These two respective agencies have numerous tools and resources available to entrepreneurs, those looking to expand their businesses or those looking to bring a new business to the area.
